When we first spotted these old SHANKS & Co taps, they had some flaky nickel plate covering them.

It wasn’t until we had finished polishing the parts and started taking the photographs below, that we noticed what had gone on at the factory – Two very different brasses were used in the manufacturing process.

But to us, this just adds to their charm and character.

The thread size on the tap tail is a larger than average, 1″ BSP.
They are a low pressure tap, so don’t think about fitting them to any of those MegaFlow systems.
Not unless you are going to use PRV’s (Pressure Reducing Valves)
