We are often asked for polished brass shower valves, but they are so few and far between that they seem to be completed on a Monday and gone within days.
This old Shanks mixer is stamped with the MWB logo of the Metropolitan Water Board. ( See this Wikipedia link for more details  – MWB )
At this point of the restoration, different directions can be taken based on your personal requirements. A handset and hose could be added, or the unit could be inverted and a rigid riser could be employed with a polished brass rose. The cradle could be lost completely or a diverter could be added. The choices are only limited by your imagination.
All the internal mechanics have been serviced and the seats re-ground. New 1/2″ washers have been fitted and the packing glands replaced.
