I had been looking for a quality Belfast sink tap as part of a kitchen restoration I had underway. Why not a modern bright shiny ‘designer tap’? Because the majority of mass market taps are manufactured using cheap metals and plastic internal parts that will look like tat and leak in a few short years. Some companies are still selling brass and nickel taps, but on the whole, old taps were made to a standard no-one is now able to match. Well not if you’re going to compete with Chinese imports and stay in business.

So I paid 45 quid for this 30 year old Rudge tap. As you can see from the before photos, cosmetically, the tap was not in a good state. But it was a ‘proper’ brass tap, made in England. Just what I was looking for. I took a chance it would be ideal for restoration.  That was the last chance I took. Because after contacting Keith at Tap Refurbishment I was in the best hands from there on in.

Keith was clearly knowledgeable, experienced and very helpful. I have been really impressed by the whole operation. But moreover just look at the results in the before and after pictures. The tap looks fabulous and works beautifully.

I would not hesitate to go back, nor can I recommend Tap Refurbishment highly enough.
