This beautiful example arrived at our workshops in a sorry state of repair. A seized and broken handle revealed a common, innocent DIY mistake of fitting a steel bolt to tap ware. The water had been building up in the ceramic handle that had corroded the bolt and the rust had expanded and cracked the porcelain. The diverter had then seized with the lack of use. The tap shields had been filling with water from leaks on the tap shafts. Locking screws were missing and the hose was split. All in all, looking very sorry for itself and some companies would have written it off.
New specialist parts were fabricated, in-house and fitted to correct the problems and restore it’s usefulness and a few hours spent on the polishing spindle, brought back the shine to make it a feature piece in the bathroom.
The before and after pictures speak for themselves. Keith.
