Bath Resurfacing.

The usual kind of job we get asked to do, is to restore some lovely old traditional bath/shower mixer taps, or to re-plate a set of basin taps with lever handles.

We got a job recently that can only be described as “not quite the norm.”
The job did include bath taps. These ones are spectacularly large, as you can see.

But the client also wanted the bath-feet plated in nickel, along with an amazing metal plunger, waste and collar to hold the plunger in place. It was a very rare bath, so quite an exciting job to do.
The cast iron feet took some prior work and needed to be thoroughly cleaned up before we could do anything with them. The company  who sent us the items were also resurfacing the bath. They knew what to do to make sure the feet were ready for plating before we got them. Interestingly they can also organise getting cast iron feet re-cast. So if you have a bath where one of the feet as been damaged, they can help.

In the gallery below, you can see the foot after we nickel plated it.

Once the feet where sorted out, we got the waste and plunger-set refurbished and plated in nickel.
As mentioned, the bath is very rare, so everything about it was a bit different to the norm. The company that re-enamelled the bath told us they hadn’t seen another one with a solid brass plunger like this one in over 20 years. Normally the plunger would be made of enamelled cast iron, like the bath.

If you want us to refurbish your taps, please give us a call or email us.
If you have something more unusual like the bath above, then do contact us, as we can do an awful lot that might surprise you.
