If you were to open a derelict barn door and find a vintage Rolls Royce inside, would you take the decision to paint it in a new modern colour, or would you get out a bucket and sponge to enjoy the lustre of the original creator?

Well, that’s exactly the same conundrum that we had in the workshop last week. And don’t they look fabulous for it!
They have a reach of 2.5 inches and stand 5 inches tall. They have the British Standard Pipe threads of 1/2″ and even have the original backing nuts.

If you have an antique basin that you have reclaimed for use in your bath or cloak room, don’t fit reproduction taps from China, fit taps that were originally made in London’s Mayfair, W1.
