Clients always say how amazed they are at the transformation of the taps when we hand them back. But it’s quite bizarre that they have let them get quite as bad as they have. Obviously there are situations that are out of their control, like they have just bought the property and the taps were already there, or they have just “found” the taps in a reclamation yard.

But the truth is, that customers are possibly unaware of the damage that the limescale causes to the plated finish of their taps if allowed to fester and the further damage that some cleaners can inflict. The easy answer is to clean them with a weak soapy solution once every 2-4 weeks, rinse and dry them, like you would if you were washing a car.

If you live in a hard water area, the only real answer is to filter all the water coming into the house. It’s an expensive outlay, but your taps will stay beautiful for many more years to come.
